You’re working with a human designer. I use my own experience, judgement and creative process to develop the work — and I expect the same human-to-human approach to feedback.
I’m not anti-AI. I use generative AI myself when there’s a practical reason for it, mostly for mockups and visualisations of work I have already created. I don’t use AI to create designs, brainstorm concepts or replace my creative process.
This policy exists because of some unfortunately unpleasant experiences in client work, so I want to make the boundaries clear from the beginning.
During an active project:
— AI-generated feedback on my work is not allowed. If you have feedback, please give me your own feedback directly.
— My work cannot be uploaded or submitted to AI tools for analysis, improvement, iteration or correction until the project is completed.
— AI cannot be used to generate creative direction based on my work, including suggestions for how my designs should look, change or develop.
These conditions are part of my client agreement.
Using AI for feedback may sound simple, but getting useful results requires the right context, understanding of how these systems work, and responsible prompting. I cannot verify or control how my work is being interpreted by an AI tool once it leaves the agreed workflow, so I choose not to include that process in my projects.
If you want to work with me, you’re hiring my creative judgement and experience — not an AI system evaluating or rewriting them.
If you decide to use AI to direct the project instead, that’s completely fine. It just means my work on the project is finished, and all completed stages will be invoiced.
Got a project in mind?
Tell me a little about your project and I’ll get back to you with the next steps. You can just schedule a call if you want!
